PROBLEM: Both Trakai and Lida belonged to the Grand Dukery of Lithuania once. Both regions have rich cultural traditions, but today they have no contacts. It is necessary to look for the ways to recreate the ties and to motivate young people to have interest in their history, to cherish traditional culture and to preserve their national and civic identity.
OBJECTIVES: the main objectives of the project are presenting the cultural heritage of Trakai and Lida regions in Lithuania, Belarus and Europe, to contribute to the development of the cross-border tourism and to motivate the younger generation not to forget their historic roots.
RESULTS AND OUTPUTS: The cultural heritage of Trakai and Lida was presented to the inhabitants of these regions and guests by 5 folk festivals, 10 old crafts workshops, 10 historic expeditions, publishing brochures and DVDs.
Spectacular joint events of the partners have contributed to the attractivness of the two cities of rich history of Lithuania and Belarus to the tourists. Thousands of people visited the events.
