PROBLEM: the agri-tourism centres of the regions seek to increase the flows of visitors, extend the time of their stay and enlarge geography of incoming guests outside the countries concerned. Strong competition in the tourism sector for attracting more visitors requires proactive efforts in finding the new solutions.

OBJECTIVES: To develop the diversity of recreational-cognitive tourism services in Druskininkai and Grodno region by applying of the most advanced information technologies, intensifying tourist flow outside the towns and providing tourists and visitors with broad variety rural tourism services and entertainment packages as well as by promoting cooperation and experience sharing of tourism sector representatives.



RESULTS&OUTPUTS: The project partners developed a joint database of over 100 tourism objects in the regions of Druskininkai and Grodno focusing on cultural and historical heritage. 4 new tourism routes for walkers, cyclists and  travelers by car were created using multifunctional mobile information dissemination system (Mobile Guide) and innovative code scanning solutions. Tourist maps were published, too.

The capacities of over 150 representatives of tourism, culture and services sectors from Lithuania and Belarus were improved during 6 training courses.
